Driving in Deep Water is Dangerous! What should drivers do when approaching a flooded area? Never drive into a flooded area that is not a clearly visible and intact roadway. Slow down to a minimal speed. Try to drive near the middle of the road because the water will be shallower there.
Know where the air intake is on your vehicle — water can enter the engine and destroy it. Do not try to restart an engine that has stalled in water without removing plugs and injectors first to expel the water. Keep the engine speed constant and use a low gear — this is intended to keep water from flowing back into the engine through the exhaust if engine speed drops suddenly. Refresh and try again.
